The venue of our wedding is located in the Veneto Region, in North-Eastern Italy.

For those willing to visit the surroundings of the wedding venue and the region

(we highly recommend it!), you can explore:

The closest city to the venue (around 20 mins by car, 18km), a small city full of treasures by the famous architect Andrea Palladio. Everything in the city center is reacheable within walking distance, from the beautiful Basilica Palladiana located in the "Piazza dei Signori" to the outstanding Olympic Theatre, the oldest indoor theatre in the world.

The "City of Love" and the must-see Arena of Verona enchant visitors with its historic centre full of Roman monuments that merge with Renaissance art. Highly recommended is the view from the panoramic point of Castel San Pietro. Sara studied in this city and fell in love with it ever since!

Venice needs no introduction, a true World Heritage Site with its Lagoon, the narrow "Calli" (streets), "Campielli" (squares), and the mesmerizing beauty of its historic landmarks.

Important: In order to visit Venice, you first need to book your visit and pay a fee (here https://cda.ve.it/en/) if you want to visit it on summer weekends and holidays (2nd June is a bank holiday in Italy!).

The easiest way to reach Venice is by train. For instance from Vicenza (the closest city to the wedding venue) to the Santa Lucia train station (located in Venice Island itself). Alternatively, for those arriving at the Venice Marco Polo airport, there are shuttles from the airport that can take you straight to Venice. You can also reach it by car but you first need to book a parking spot (around 30€ per day). There are also road tolls to keep in mind.

Please note that Venice today is a pedestrian city, so wherever you want to go, you'll have to walk through streets and bridges most of the way, or otherwise find boat shuttles (keep this in mind if you are planning to visit with many trolleys!).

A few kilometres away from the venue there is Padua, the city of Saint-Anthony (Sant'Antonio), where we suggest you to visit the Scrovegni Chapel, covered entirely by frescos painted by the famous painter Giotto. Padua is also where Italy's second oldest University, after Bologna, was founded and became renowned for welcoming scholars such as Galileo and Copernicus. Highly recommended is the visit to the University's Botanical garden – the world's first botanical garden – that was created in Padua in 1545 and it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Other beautiful places to sightseeing in the surrounding area are the Asiago Plateau (Altopiano di Asiago), the Garda Lake (Lago di Garda), the medieval walled towns of Cittadella or Marostica, the charming town of Bassano del Grappa, the Euganei Hills (Colli Euganei) with the thermal location of Abano Terme or historic centers such as Arquà Petrarca.
